Welcome to Couplehood as a Spiritual Path. This program will not only transform your relationship, but also shift how you feel about yourself, your partner, and the whole of your life. Couplehood as a Spiritual Path is a faith-centered educational program for couples developed by Harville Hendrix, Ph.D. and Helen LaKelly Hunt, Ph.D. Based on Imago principles described in the best selling book GETTING THE LOVE YOU WANT: A GUIDE FOR COUPLES, this program is designed for all committed couples who want to realize their relationship potential.

Committed partnership can be one of the most accessible ways of experiencing God’s love, but it doesn't always feel that way. No matter how hard couples try, it’s not always easy to “will” love unconditionally. Achieving and sustaining this kind of love requires an investment of time and energy and a willingness to transcend our usual patterns.

Couplehood as a Spiritual Path takes an in-depth look at the psychological and spiritual workings of intimate relationships by exploring the origins of attraction and conflict. The goals include helping couples:

• Learn a new way to talk and a new way to listen.
• Co-create a relationship vision.
• Acquire the skills to manifest this vision.
• Discover the “otherness” of one’s partner.
• Uncover the opportunities for emotional healing and spiritual growth.
  

Ultimately, this program describes a journey about a new way to love. Learning to give and receive love is the path to experiencing God.

Both options are six sessions long and require purchasing the Participant Set (2 participant manuals and 1 DVD). The 150+-page manual will guide you through DVD viewings, written and experiential exercises, daily practice, and suggested readings from Getting the Love You Want. To deepen your understanding of your relationship, we encourage you to read this book along with the session material.

This program is currently available for Christian and interfaith couples. Additional faith-versions will be available November 2008.
