Frequently Asked Questions

What are the similarities and differences between the three programs?
All three programs are based on the same Imago exercises with similar readings and DVD viewings, although some of the couples and educators included in the DVD are different. However, both the written materials and the DVD are grounded in scripture and theology for the Christian and Jewish programs. The General Audience program does not contain any explicit spiritual content.

How long is the program?
Each program is divided into 6 sessions (with an optional introduction and celebration session).

At home, expect to spend 1 ½ to 2 hours to complete each session. (We recommend completing one session per week with your partner.)

If you are taking this program in a Group Study, each of the six sessions are 1 ½ to 2 hours long and have in-between session assignments (written exercises, practice, and reading.)

Can I do this program on my own, without my partner?
Although you can still gain insight into the relationship by watching the DVD and reading the materials, most of the written and experiential exercises are designed to be completed with your partner.

My partner and I are going through a difficult time. Is this program appropriate for us?
Although this program will help couples in all stages of their relationship, it is an educational program and not meant to replace therapy. If you and your partner are experiencing difficulties in your relationship, the program can offer some insight into your relationship but we recommend working with an Imago therapist or taking an Imago insight program. Additional information on these resources can be found on www.GettingtheLoveYouWant.com.

I want to bring this curriculum to my church or synagogue. What do I need to do?
You will need to purchase a Facilitator Kit to get you started which offers step-by-step instructions for facilitating a Group Study program. No training is necessary.
